The final round of fixtures in the Premier League this season is finally here. Everything will be decided on the final day of the campaign, with the league title as well as the final spot in the Champions League and the third team to be relegated all to be determined. Following an exciting round of midweek action in the Premier League, the attention turns to the final day.

Champions To Be Crowned

The Premier League title race will go down to the final day for the ninth time in history. For the third time, it will be a battle between Manchester City and Liverpool for the top prize, with Pep Guardiola’s side having the advantage, as they sit a point clear of Liverpool. City will be aware that victory on the final day against Aston Villa will be enough to see them crowned champions for the 2021-22 season.

City has an excellent record in this fixture, as they have picked up nine wins from the previous ten fixtures. That includes a run of six straight wins against the side from the Midlands. Villa also have a poor record away from home against City, as they have been beaten in 15 of the previous 16 fixtures between the sides. We aren’t expecting a slip-up from City this weekend.

Liverpool also look good value to keep their end of the bargain, as they have won their last ten fixtures against Wolves. The last defeat the Reds suffered against Wolves came back in December 2010. Liverpool have also lost just twice in the previous 19 fixtures between the sides at Anfield.

Spurs Look To Wrap Up Fourth

The advantage to finish in the final Champions League spot this season is firmly Tottenham Hotspurs to lose at this stage. A point will be enough for Antonio Conte’s side on the final day, as they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City. The Canaries have picked up just a single victory in their previous nine against Spurs, while Tottenham have lost just once in their previous ten visits to Carrow Road. It would appear very difficult to oppose Tottenham Hotspur clinching fourth at their relegated opponents this weekend.

Leeds & Burnley Battle To Avoid Drop

The third and final team that will be relegated this season will also be determined on the final day of the season. Despite currently sitting in the bottom three, Burnley are favourites to stay in the division over Leeds. The Clarets have a midweek fixture against Aston Villa before the final day of the campaign. On the final day, they come up against Newcastle at home. Newcastle have an excellent record in the fixture, as they have won each of the previous three. The Clarets have also lost on the final day of the season in each of the previous five seasons. I could see Newcastle ending their season on a high.

Leeds United will be looking for a victory to ensure their safety, and they travel to Brentford on the final day. The Bees have a fine home record in this fixture, as they are unbeaten in their previous ten against the Whites. Their unbeaten home record against Leeds stretches back to August 1950. Leeds have a tough challenge on their hands on the final day, and I could see them also losing.
