There is an exciting round of midweek soccer fixtures in the Premier League on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Important points will be up for grabs in the hunt for European places in the league, with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United all in action. But, which sides will get the wins that they need?
Brighton vs Chelsea Odds & Pick
Brighton | +375 |
Draw | +275 |
Chelsea | -138 |
Brighton will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the league, which currently stands at four games, as Chelsea are the visitors to the Amex. The Blues have seen their title hopes fade in recent weeks, as they are without a win in their last three Premier League fixtures.
Chelsea have an excellent record against the Seagulls, as they are unbeaten in their last 13 league meetings. During that run, they have picked up ten wins and three draws. Meanwhile, the Blues have scored in all nine trips that they have made to the South Coast to take on Brighton.
However, the Seagulls are certainly picking up better results against the Blues in recent seasons, as they have taken draws from the last two fixtures between the sides. Based on the current form of both sides, the bet on Brighton or Draw is the selection we are most intrigued by.
Pick: Brighton or Draw @ +100
Leicester City vs Tottenham Odds & Pick
Leicester City | +200 |
Draw | +250 |
Tottenham | +130 |
The most difficult game in midweek to call is the fixture between Tottenham and Leicester City. Spurs play in the league for the first time since New Year’s Day, while this is Leicester’s first league fixture of 2022.
Spurs could move up to fifth with a win on Wednesday, which would put them just a point behind West Ham United with three games in hand. Tottenham have won three of their last five league games, and also picked up a famous 4-2 victory to deny Leicester City Champions League qualification at the end of last season.
Leicester look way off the pace when it comes to qualifying for Europe this season. They have won just seven games in the league, which is the second fewest number of wins by any side in the top half of the standings. They have also lost two of their last five fixtures in the league.
Despite the difference in form, this is still a hard match to call. However, the fact that there have been 54 goals in the 14 fixtures since 2014 means that the over 3.5 total goals selection is the way that we will go.
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals @ -125
Brentford vs Manchester United Odds & Pick
Brentford | +350 |
Draw | +270 |
Manchester United | -125 |
Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways after failing to pick up a victory in their last two. Brentford still aren’t assured of their Premier League status and will need a couple more wins to move themselves clear of the drop zone.
There are certainly issues at Old Trafford at present, and that was evident as United threw away a 2-0 lead against Aston Villa in their last fixture. However, Brentford also aren’t at the top of their game, as they were hammered 3-0 by Liverpool in their latest fixture.
United haven’t set the world alight in recent weeks, but they are unbeaten on their last 12 visits to London, and we could see that run continuing with a 1-0 success here.
Pick: Man Utd 1-0 @ +700
