The 2024-25 Premier League season promises to be another engrossing campaign of action, with Man City chasing a fifth straight league title. However, there will also be important action at the opposite end of the standings, with the fight for survival set to form one of the most compelling narratives.

Before Betting On Premier League Relegation

Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United suffered an immediate return to the Championship last term after finishing in the bottom three positions in the league standings. This term, there will be three newcomers to the top-flight that will be aiming to avoid the same fate. Leicester City could face a heavy deduction following breaches in rules, while they are also on the lookout for a new boss.

The Foxes gained promotion back to the Premier League at the first opportunity as champions, but they will likely need to invest in the forward areas with Jamie Vardy failing to play every week in the second tier last term. Southampton joined the Foxes in the top-flight after the playoff final, but their youthful team will need to make a strong start.

Kieran McKenna has been hot property throughout the off-season, with Chelsea and Man United weighing up moves for the Ipswich boss. However, McKenna has put an end to his long-term future after penning a new deal. They could be among the most exciting teams in the competition this term.

Everton could also face another deduction this coming season, meaning it’s hard to rule out them in terms of relegation. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could only survive by the slimmest of margins over the final month and are unlikely to be that far away.

A number of clubs could be found in breach of financial rules, meaning that an interesting battle to avoid the drop could take shape. However, Southampton look among the weakest teams in the top-flight, while Fulham could struggle after a poor end to the 2023-24 season.
