NFL Black Friday is a relatively new tradition that has leveraged its way into the country’s lexicon, like Thanksgiving Day football.
Raiders-Chiefs is a rivalry that goes back to the inception of the AFL. Head-to-head, Kansas City holds a significant advantage with a record of 74-55-2.

Raiders Go Back to Aidan O’Connell at QB
Veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew II broke his collarbone in Week 12’s 29-19 loss to Denver. Aidan O’Connell is expected to start over Desmond Ridder in Kansas City. The best quarterback affiliated with the organization — part-owner Tom Brady — is in the Fox broadcast booth.
It’s difficult to find bright spots for the once-proud franchise trying to find its way after years of ineptitude. They do have some pieces in place. Rookie tight end Brock Bowers is already a star.
They’re middle of the pack defensively. Their takeaway differential is the worst in the league at -17. Their rushing attack is also last in the league. To make matters worse, Kansas City will likely have something to prove after nearly losing to Carolina.
Despite Being 10-1, Kansas City Needs to Right Itself
At first glance, the Chiefs look like the two-time defending Super Bowl champion machine is rolling on unabated. At 10-1, they are tied with Detroit for the best record in the NFL.
Still, there are cracks beneath the veneer of dominance.
In Week 12, the Chiefs barely escaped Carolina with a 30-27 win. This came on the heels of their first loss of the season in Week 11. Worse, that loss to Buffalo gave them no margin for error to secure home-field advantage and a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs. If they end the season tied with Buffalo, the Bills take home-field advantage by nature of their head-to-head win over Kansas City.
On a positive note, star running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu were full participants at practice this week.
The Chiefs need to right the ship.
The rest of the season will go one of two ways: Either they stumble through the remaining games, lose one or two, are forced to play a Wild Card game, and get bounced early; or they hit their stride with three or four regular season games left, get healthy, and tear through the playoffs on the way to another Super Bowl.
Raiders vs Chiefs Prediction: An NFL Black Friday Blowout
Kansas City will not have a problem with Las Vegas. They will win in a blowout and the teams will score over 42.5 points.
