We keep waiting for the Raiders (2-5) to pull things together and make a run in the AFC West, but the truth is maybe that’s just not going to happen. If Las Vegas cannot pick up the win over 2-6 Jacksonville perhaps it’s time for Josh McDaniels and company to give a bit of an election preview and just concede the 2022 season following the Raiders vs Jaguars matchup.
Before Betting on Raiders vs Jaguars
This is an interesting matchup because both the Raiders and Jaguars could be better than their two win records – or worse. Las Vegas had their worst game of the season last week in a 24-0 loss to the Saints in New Orleans but their four previous losses this season came by a combined 14 points – all by one score.
Jacksonville has shown some upside like in the 38-10 win at the Chargers in week but it’s been five straight losses since then. To up the degree of difficulty a bit the Jaguars have had to travel back from London this week after losing 21-17 to the Broncos last Sunday.
It’s hard to know what to expect from the Las Vegas offense on Sunday following a performance last week where they ran for just 38 yards and threw for only 145. The Saints do have a solid defense that is top 10 in total yards allowed (320.8) but Davante Adams having one catch for three yards is unacceptable even if he was fighting through the flu.
This is a great opportunity for Jacksonville to pick up a win against the beat-up and demoralized Raiders, but so was last week against a struggling Denver team. So was at home against Houston in week five when Jacksonville lost 13-6. So was at home against the Giants in week 7 as -3 point favorites only to lose 23-17. Basically this is not a team you can trust.
