Before Betting on Rangers vs Tigers June 16

The Texas Rangers find themselves road favorites in the offshore odds for Thursday’s MLB slate. Texas is back on the road after a short home stint where they dropped two of three against the Astros – a disappointing series considering the Rangers had climbed into 2nd place behind Houston in the AL West thanks to going 17-10 in May.

The Detroit Tigers need to find some pitching ASAP as they are in the midst of a four game losing streak where they have allowed 33 runs. Wednesday’s 13-0 loss at the hands of the White Sox was especially painfully, and Detroit isn’t too far removed from a 10-1 defeat against Toronto last Friday.

Texas batters have to be licking their chops to face this Tigers pitching staff especially Adolis Garcia who is hitting at a .440 clip over the past week (11 for 25, 2 HR). Martin Perez (4-2, 2.18 ERA) has a pretty good matchup of his own though as Detroit ranks last in the majors scoring just 2.71 runs/game. Perez needs a reprieve coming off his worst start of the season, allowing 6ER to the White Sox even though Texas ended up pulling out an 11-9 win.

Beau Brieske (1-4, 4.34 ERA) will make his 10th career start on Thursday night. The rookie picked up his first MLB win last time out while holding the Blue Jays scoreless over 5.2 IP. The Tigers are now just 3-6 in his 9 starts this season however.

The Rangers are just 4-17 in their last 21 games as a road favorite but Perez has been pretty solid up until his last start. The Tigers are also just 1-5 on their current home stand, getting absolutely lit up by the White Sox the last three games by a margin of 27-6. Good ‘get right’ four game series for Texas.
