  • These teams last played on Nov. 12, with the Bucks claiming a 99-85 victory.

One of the games on tap from Monday night’s NBA slate features the Toronto Raptors hosting the Milwaukee Bucks. Our Raptors vs Bucks prediction foresees Milwaukee coming out on top.

Raptors Hope To Bounce Back From Loss To Magic

The Raptors are not a very good team this season, posting just eight wins across their first 35 games. This includes a 106-97 loss against the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Jakob Poeltl led a quartet of starters that reached double figures. He scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds while posting a noteworthy 11-for-12 effort from the field.

Scottie Barnes added 20 points, nine boards, and five dimes, while Ochai Agbaji contributed 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Although Toronto shot 47.5 percent overall and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc, the solid shooting wasn’t enough to overcome a first quarter in which it surrendered nine 3-point baskets to Orlando. As a result, the Magic built a 37-24 lead they would never relinquish.

Bucks Will Try To End Two-Game Slide

Following a 120-112 victory against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 31, the Bucks have dropped their previous two contests. This includes a 105-102 defeat at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo did his thing, scoring a team-high 31 points along with 11 rebounds and two assists.

AJ Green led the second unit with 21 points on 7-for-13 from 3-point range. Damian Lillard added 16 points and six assists on 5-for-15 shooting from the field and 2-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Fast forward to the final frame, Antetokounmpo knocked down a pair of free throws to give Milwaukee a 102-100 lead. On the following sequence, Anfernee Simons was fouled on a scoring drive, giving the Trail Blazers a 103-102 lead with 23.5 seconds left in regulation.

Following a Milwaukee turnover, Simons added two free throws for a 105-102 advantage. The Bucks had an opportunity to send the game to overtime, but Lillard missed a three-pointer from the left side, thus preserving the victory for the road team.

Raptors vs Bucks Prediction: Milwaukee Gets Back Into The Win Column Against Toronto

The Raptors have gone just 1-12 following a 122-111 win over the Pacers on Dec. 3. Additionally, they are ranked in the bottom third in scoring while ranking 26th in points allowed (118.7 PPG) and 27th in defensive efficiency (117.9 Points Per 100 Possessions).

Meanwhile, the Bucks haven’t been playing otherworldly basketball, either. After consecutive wins over the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls, they have dropped four of their previous five games. Despite its recent struggles, though, Milwaukee has enough talent to win this matchup.
