With 33 points in Wednesday’s win over the Jazz, Luka Doncic made history as just the third player ever to score 30+ in the first seven games of the season. While Doncic has been on fire to start the year, the Dallas Mavericks may need more of a team effort to beat a Toronto team that has won their last two games by a combined 73 points.
Before Betting on Raptors vs Mavericks
Friday’s meeting is going to be a nice showdown between Doncic and Toronto’s Pascal Siakam. Siakam only needed 27:34 of court time on Wednesday to record his second triple-double of the season going for 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. He also had 37/12/11 earlier in the year at Brooklyn.
Wednesday’s 143-100 victory over the Spurs followed a 139-109 victory over Atlanta so the Raptors are dialed in right now. The weird thing is they’ve posted those two blowouts without Fred VanVleet who remains questionable Friday with a back injury.
Doncic joined Wilt Chamberlain (twice) and Jack Twyman as the only other players who have hit for 30+ points in the first seven games of a season. His average is up to 36.1 ppg this season and Dallas is also getting some nice contributions from Christian Wood (17.3) and Spencer Dinwiddie (16.7). Toronto has the #6 defensive efficiency in the NBA though so we will see if Doncic’s streak can keep going.

Raptors vs Mavericks Prediction & Pick
Getting the hook at MyBookie or Bovada looks to be the play here taking the Raptors and the points. Toronto has been absolutely astounding with an average margin of victory of 35+ points their last two games and while Doncic has been great the Mavs have also been very streaky early in the year. A Dallas blowout also wouldn’t be a shocker, but with two evenly matched teams you take the points.
Pick: Raptors +3.5
