The NFL postseason is heating up! The Divisional Round continues with a pair of Sunday games. Our Ravens vs Bills pick features a battle between two Super Bowl contenders. This one will be very close.
Ravens Face Challenge in Buffalo
Baltimore’s offense has never looked better than it does right now. They barnstormed Pittsburgh’s excellent defense en route to a 28-14 victory. QB Lamar Jackson completed 16 of 21 passes for 175 yards and 2 TDs, posting a 132 passer rating in the victory. He also added 81 yards on the ground.
Most notably, RB Derrick Henry rushed 26 times for 186 yards and 2 TDs. The combination of Lamar Jackson’s dual-threat ability and Henry’s absolute dominance as a rusher has been impossible to stop. If Zay Flowers is finally able to return to the lineup, the Ravens will become even more dangerous.
Derrick Henry has a history of getting even more dominant at the end of the season and into the postseason and this year appears to be no different. He’s rushed for 633 yards in the last four games, with 158 yards per game and 6.5 yards per carry. He’ll be their best chance of defeating Buffalo this week.
Bills Host Ravens with Chiefs on Mind
Both the Ravens and the Chiefs have been thorns in Buffalo’s side in their quest to return to the Super Bowl and walk away as victors for the first time in team history. QB Josh Allen had an MVP-level season, despite losing top WR Stefon Diggs. He’ll be aiming to carry a scrappy but incomplete roster.
Aiding Josh Allen has been the emergence of RB James Cook, who will have his hands full matching the pace of opposing RB Derrick Henry. Cook rushed 23 times for 120 yards and a TD in Buffalo’s blowout win over Denver. Meanwhile, Josh Allen posted a stellar 135.4 passer rating. Both will be crucial here.
Buffalo’s defense was arguably the most impressive part of their win last week. Despite neither team turning the ball, the Bills held the Broncos to just 7 points and accumulated more than double the yardage. They’ll need to continue playing at their best to have a chance of slowing Baltimore down.
Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills Pick
It’s hard to imagine either of these teams losing after last week. It’s fair to say that whoever survives this clash will be a fitting test for the Chiefs (or the Texans). The two biggest factors in this game will be Derrick Henry and Buffalo’s home-field advantage. Henry provides Baltimore’s offense with a key missing piece from years past. That being said, he may not be enough to overcome the Bills in Buffalo.
