The game between Real Madrid and Olympiacos draws enormous attention, with these two units being last year’s finalists. Back then, we saw Real beating Oly with a buzzer-beater, crushing the hearts of the Greek fans.

Before Betting on Real Madrid vs. Olympiacos Euroleague Final Four

The Madridians had the easiest path to the Final Four, outclassing Baskonia and sweeping them with three straight wins. The Balkan duo Musa-Hezonja leads this unit, scoring 13.3 and 13.7, respectively, per game. Argentinian playmaker Facundo Campazzo is one of the best point guards in Europe, dictating the pace of the game and orchestrating the attack with 6.5 assists and 11.7 points.

Veteran center Walter Tavares adds power in the paint, with one of the best Euroleague defenders of all times presenting a wall ahead of the rim. He has 8.9 points but 6.6 boards and 1.5 blocks. We won’t forget Real’s veterans, like Sergio Llull, Rudy Fernandez, and Sergio Rodriguez, who always fire up at the Final Four.

On the other hand, we have Olympiacos, the best defending team in the Euroleague. With 75 allowed points per game, they lead the way in that category and, may we add, play really competitive basketball. They don’t have any notable scoring leaders. The former Valparaiso star, Alec Peters, scores a team-most 12.7 points per match.

Yet, seven players have between 6.7 and 8.8 buckets, plus we have Isaiah Caanan with 11.3, which suggests that this team is extremely versatile on the offensive end. Oly is fantastically physical under the rim, having several big guys like Fall, Milutinov, and Petrusev, which is, in fact, the reason why they protect the rim that well.

Real was better than Oly in both regular-season matchups this year. The first meeting was in Athens, and Los Blancos triumphed 77-71, while the second concluded 90-85.

Real is a more potent team when it comes to offense, but right now, we are pretty sure that Oly has everything needed to avenge last year’s defeat in the finals. This might come as a shock to many, but we picked the Greeks mainly due to their defensive toughness and versatile attack.
