Greece is hoping for a miracle in their quest for the EURO 2024, but to stay in contention for one of the top two spots, they must beat the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.

Before Betting on the Republic of Ireland vs. Greece

The Irish unit has only one win in the past five EURO 2024 qualifiers rounds, and along with that, four defeats. Their goal difference is five scored and seven conceded goals. Stephen Kenny’s crew lost all of its chances to reach Germany, and he might use the rest of the games to give chance to some younger guys who could bring extra quality in the future campaigns.

The only victory came against Gibraltar, whom they beat 3-0 at home. Though, apart from the game in Paris against France, this squad was competitive, forcing its rivals to work hard and to dig deep, especially at home, where both France and the Netherlands won only by a one-goal margin.

On the other side, we have Greece, who lost to the Netherlands in Amsterdam but is still in the race for Germany. They have a rematch against Oranje at home, and currently have the same number of points as them, but one more game played. It is why this contest holds such a high importance for the Greeks.

Unlike in the past, their games see a solid amount of goals, with seven of the past nine ending with three or more hits. Though, five of the past six have seen only one side netting. Greece still plays hard and physical football, and they aren’t willing to speed up the tempo on the field.

As stated, the game is very important for Greece, but they don’t have the tools to attack and impose their own rhythm. That’s why we believe there won’t be too many goals, two at most. Ireland is a formidable rival, and they, too, don’t play high-efficient games.
