Before Betting on Rockies vs Diamondbacks July 7
The Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks meet up for the second straight weekend, with Colorado taking two of three in Denver in the previous series. Both teams are coming off very sloppy performances, with the Rockies allowing a run on a wild pitch and on an infield single while falling 2-1 to the Dodgers and Arizona allowing five runs over the last two innings in a 7-5 defeat against San Francisco.
Colorado has some offensive concerns after scoring just six runs in three losses to the Dodgers this week, wasting quality pitching performances that held L.A. to just 10 runs over that span. All will be well if they can hit like they did against Arizona last week, getting an 11-7 win on Saturday, and coming out on top 6-5 on Sunday behind a couple of C.J. Cron 3-run HRs.
Austin Gomber (4-7, 6.53 ERA) will try to continue a run of strong pitching for the Rockies. He gave up 4 ER to Arizona over 5.2 IP in his last start, with Ketel Marte and Christian Walker both hitting HRs. That was at Coors Field, but the Diamondbacks offense has also looked solid while scoring 19 runs total as they took two of three from the Giants this week.
Dallas Keuchel could be pitching for his big league career at this point. In two starts since joining the Diamondbacks he has allowed 4 ER over 4.1 IP to the Tigers and gave up 6ER across 5.0 IP against these Rockies last time out. Once again that most recent start was in hitter-friendly Coors Field, but Keuchel still appears as if his best days are behind him.

There’s solid value on the Rockies in this spot because Keuchel simply cannot be backed in any game until he shows signs of turning things around. There’s a reason he was DFA’d by the White Sox and went unclaimed for a month. The 9.5 total shows that Keuchel could be in trouble in the Rockies vs Diamondbacks July 7 matchup.
