Rodolfo Vieira (8-2) vs Cody Brundage (8-3) is one of the most interesting matchups of the UFC Fight Night 223 main card. What makes it interesting is that this is a clash between two elite grapplers who also have many other weapons in their arsenals.
Before Betting on Rodolfo Vieira vs Cody Brundage
Rodolfo Vieira is one of the best grapplers on the planet. He’s a four-time world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, who’s got a submission-to-win ratio in the MMA of 87.5%.
He did suffer one submission loss in his MMA career. It happened in 2021 when Anthony Hernandez beat him via a guillotine choke. He bounced back a few months later with a win over Dustin Stoltzfus. It was another win by submission (rear-naked choke).
In his most recent fight, however, he lost to Chris Curtis by unanimous decision. This happened because Curtis landed way more significant strikes while also preventing Vieira from taking him down. We doubt Brundage can do the same. He’s a good wrestler/grappler, but he just isn’t as good as Vieira.

Cody Brundage’s record isn’t much worse than the one of Rodolfo Vieira, but his opponent has been way more impressive in the Octagon than him. Vieira did well in each of his UFC fights, including those that he ended up losing. This time, however, we don’t think he’s going to lose. Instead, he’s going to get himself another submission win.
