The inaugural UFL season is heating up at its midway point. This Week 6 game features a clash between the Houston Roughnecks (1-4) and the red-hot St. Louis Battlehawks (4-1). The Battlehawks are seeking to add to their 4-game winning streak, while Houston is trying to avoid sliding any further in the standings.

Before Betting on Roughnecks vs Battlehawks

The Roughnecks were embarrased last week by the 5-0 Stallions. They were defeated 32-9 at home, giving up 213 yards on the ground in the process. Houston has struggled on both sides of the ball for much of the season, and faces another brutal task against the red-hot Battlehawks in Week 6.

In order to stand a chance against St. Louis, the Roughnecks will need their own running game to take a massive step forward. They totaled just 36 yards on 14 attempts in Saturday’s loss. With decent Quarterback play, Houston can’t be fully written off yet. That being said, their defense and run game need to make 180-degree turnarounds to survive this week.

The Battlehawks picked up their fourth consecutive win on Sunday, after blowing past the Defenders. The 45-12 victory cemented St. Louis as one of UFL’s most dangerous teams. WR Hakeem Butler had a breakout performance in the win, reeling in 6 catches for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’ll be aiming to add to that in front of the home crowd on Saturday.

QB A.J. McCarron has utilized his NFL experience well in the UFL. He posted a 115.5 QBR against D.C., leading the league for the week. While McCarron wasn’t tremendously accurate, he connected on a couple of crucial deep balls that helped seal the win. The Battlehawks have also been aided by a defense that has played tremendously well during the winning streak.

The Battlehawks are enormous favorites at home in this game. The spread reflects just how good St. Louis has been, while also being impacted by Houston’s troubles.
