Saturday is the final day at Royal Ascot, and the action is headlined by sprint action over six furlongs in the form of the Commonwealth Cup. The Group One has been staged annually since 2015, making it one of the newest high-quality races added to the schedule.

Before Betting On Commonwealth Cup

The Commonwealth Cup is the feature on the final day at Royal Ascot, and horses aged three will compete over a six furlong distance. It is one of the newest races that have been added to the Ascot schedule, having been staged for the first time in 2015. There have some notable winner of the race to date, including American raider Campanelle in 2021.

Inisherin will likely line-up as the favorite at Ascot on Saturday for the Kevin Ryan team. The three-year-old has been progressive over the sprint distances throughout his career, with his only defeat this year coming in the G1 2,000 Guineas when finishing a respectable sixth. Bounced back from that setback by winning the G2 Sandy Lane over six furlongs at Haydock.

Vandeek was the standout horse as a two-year-old last season, winning on each of his four starts for the Simon & Ed Crisford team. However, he was beaten on his return to action in the Sandy Lane Stakes. But, it could be argued that he needed the run on that outing, and unfavorable ground conditions also went against him.

There are also a number of other runners in the Commonwealth field with progressive profiles, including River Tiber and Bucanero Fuerte. Jasour also has something to find on ratings, but the Clive Cox runner does boast winning experience over course and distance after landing the trial in early May.

Elite Status could be the over-looked contender in this field for the Karl Burke team. The three-year-old was a short-price for the Norfolk Stakes last year, but he looked back to his very best when winning the Carnarvon Stakes over six furlongs at Newbury in May.
