Before Betting On King Charles III Stakes

The King Charles III Stakes is the second Group One of the day on the opening card of action at Royal Ascot. It will be the turn of some of the fastest horses on the turf, with a total distance of five furlongs covered. Bradsell ended the wait for a three-year-old winner of the race in 2023, while it is a contest that is usually targeted by international trainers.

However, Big Evs certainly looks to be the most exciting runner that will be lining up in the race this year. The three-year-old was the winner of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint last year, and returned to action with a very professional display after finishing over a length clear of Sommelier in the Westow Stakes at York. The distance provides no issues, and he is versatile on all ground.

Regional could be an interesting runner against the market leader, as the six-year-old looks to be still competitive at the highest level. He returned from a lengthy break to take second in the G2 Greelands Stakes at the Curragh, and the drop back to five furlongs should prove no major issue.

Valiant Force caused a major upset in the G2 Norfolk Stakes at 150/1 last year, and should give a good account once again over course and distance. Diligent Harry is another at a bigger price that could give a good account back over five furlongs after winning over the distance earlier this season before a narrow third behind Mill Stream in Group Two company.

Big Evs is one of the stronger favorites on the opening day at Royal Ascot. The Michael Appleby runner has looked like a potential superstar to this point, and we fully expect him to land another big Group One purse at Ascot.
