Ryan Bader vs Fedor Emelianenko 2 is going to be Fedor’s last fight ever. He’s got a chance to wrap up his illustrious career with a win in the Heavyweight Championship fight at Bellator 290 on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

This is going to be the second clash between these two, with their first one seeing Bader win by TKO after only 35 seconds. Since that win, Darth defended his heavyweight title on three occasions. The 39-year-old American is 30-7-1 in his pro career, with an 8-2-1 record since joining Bellator MMA in 2017.

What’s interesting is that both of his Bellator losses happened in the Light Heavyweight division. He lost to Corey Anderson in 2021, as well as to Fedor’s protégé Vadim Nemkov a year earlier. In the Bellator MMA Heavyweight division, however, Bader still has a 100% success rate.

Is Fedor the man who’s going to tarnish his record? The 46-year-old Russian is a true legend of the sport, who used to rule the MMA world in the early 2000s. Then, in 2012 he decided to retire, spending more than three years out of the cage before changing his mind.

Since unretiring, Fedor’s record hasn’t been too impressive. From New Year’s Day of 2015 until today, we saw him win six fights against somewhat mediocre fighters, while also losing two. One of the two fights he lost was against Bader.

Here’s a fun fact for you – even though he’s been fighting professionally since 2000, Fedor has never spent more than 15 minutes inside the cage. Further, only one of the fights he’s fought since unretiring went the distance. Bader, on the other hand, has fought three 25-minute fights within the last two years.

Obviously, Bader’s stamina is way superior to Fedor’s. What this means is that if the Russian doesn’t finish him in the early stages, Bader will get to bully The Last Emperor.

We suspect the following scenario will happen – it’s going to be a close fight in Round 1, but then Fedor will run out of gas. And that’s when Bader will destroy him by a KO/TKO.
