Action on the second day of Wimbledon sees one of the fan favorites in action, as Andy Murray makes his return to Centre Court. The British star will come up against Ryan Peniston in the opening round, with the 36-year-old promising that he could be in the hunt for a place in the latter stages this year.

Before Betting On Ryan Peniston vs Andy Murray

Few players will get a better ovation when they take to the court at Wimbledon this year than Andy Murray, as the three-time Grand Slam winner looks to deliver yet another memorable moment at SW19. The 36-year-old admitted that he is coming into his home Slam in better condition than he has been for a number of years, but he will be tested by fellow Brit Ryan Peniston in the opening round.

Murray comes into the event this year after winning a first singles title since returning from injury, and that form was backed up with a stunning victory at the Challenger Nottingham without dropping a set. However, his form was impacted at the Queen’s Club, as he exited at the first hurdle with a disappointing showing against Alex de Minaur.

Despite being British, Ryan Pentiston will be the pantomime villain at Wimbledon on Tuesday, as he looks for the biggest victory of his career. The 27-year-old is currently ranked at 267th in the world and will be competing in the main round at Wimbledon for just the second time. He impressed at the Championships 12 months ago, as he upset the odds to reach the second round.

However, he has failed to reach the same heights this year, as he was eliminated in the opening round of qualifying at the Australian Open, before then failing to make the main draw at the French Open. But, his ability on the grass could make him a very serious rival to Murray in the opening round.
