Both New Orleans and Los Angeles sit at 7-7 on the season and right in the midst of the postseason chase, so while Thursday’s game may not sound the best on paper there is a lot riding on this contest. The path for the Saints to make the playoffs is much easier considering they are tied with Tampa Bay atop the NFC South, while the Rams will have to rely on a wild card berth considering 11-3 San Francisco has already clinched the NFC West.
Before Betting on Saints vs Rams
The Rams have used a 4-1 stretch over their last five games to move into the final wild card spot in the NFC. They’ve got plenty of company though with the Seahawks and Bucs/Saints all with them at 7-7 while Green Bay and Atlanta are only a game back at 6-8.
Los Angeles seems to be dialed in at the perfect time of the season. RB Kyren Williams has returned after missing four games and has topped the century mark rushing in three of his last four. WR Cooper Kupp has posted consecutive 110+ yard receiving games and the Rams defense has held five of their last six opponents to 20 points or less.
Obviously you want to win every week, especially this late in the season but the Saints’ playoff hopes will be determined by the last two games of the season, at division foe Tampa Bay and at home against the Falcons. The big matchup with the Bucs next Sunday could have New Orleans in the “look ahead” spot vs. the Rams, especially on the road in a short week, and after playing their last three games at home.

Saints vs Rams Week 16 Prediction & Pick
The Rams should be able to get this one rather easily. It’s hard to play on the short week this late in the season when everybody is banged up, and Los Angeles has looked really good on both sides of the ball.
