Thunder Looking to Move Up
The Oklahoma CIty Thunder are coming off a 115-87 win over the Phoenix Suns. The offense was impressive, but the defense was the main story. Oklahoma City has been impressed by their new addition Corey Brewer. He scored 17 in the win over the Suns. He should add some scoring to an already impressive offensive lineup. Defending MVP Russell Westbrook leads the team with 25.4 points per game, 10.1 assists per game, and just shy of 10 rebounds per game. In the win over the Suns, he had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
Spurs Looking to Improve On the Road
The San Antonio Spurs have struggled a bit on the road this season, with just 14 wins in 34 games. The Spurs won at Cleveland in their last road game before falling Thursday night at the Oracle. San Antonio will need to finish the season 13-4 to keep their streak of 50+ regular season wins going.
LaMarcus Aldridge is the top scorer for the Spurs with more than 22 points per game. He has had to take over the load for the loss of Kawhi Leonard, who expects to be back sometime this month. The offense has struggled through all season, ranking 27th in the league, scoring 102.4 points per game.
Thunder Top Spurs at Home
This should be a home win for the Oklahoma City Thunder. There is still a bunch on the table for Oklahoma City, with a chance to move as high as third in the Western Conference. A season ago, the Thunder did not have Paul George or Carmelo Anthony, and lost in the first round. Those guys were brought over for more than just the same.
The Thunder play better against the best teams. The Spurs are still one of the top teams in the league, which means Oklahoma City comes to play. The Spurs are a tough team to put away, but in the end just not talented enough to win this game. Bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5 over the San Antonio Spurs in NBA action on Saturday.
