PFL Europe 2 is an MMA event organized by the Professional Fighters League (PFL), which will take place at Utilita Arena Newcastle on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The event is headlined by the Women’s Lightweight Savannah Marshall vs. Mirela Vargas fight, which we’ll preview now.

The 2024 PFL Europe 2 headliner is going to be Savannah Marshall’s professional debut in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). Before switching to MMA, she had a very successful boxing career.
In fact, Silent Assassin is one of the most successful female boxers in British history, going 13-1 overall (with 10 wins by KO/TKO) and winning IBF, The Ring, WBA, WBC, and WBO titles in the female super-middleweight division.
She got ahold of all of those titles a year ago after beating Franchón Crews-Dezurn by a majority decision, meaning that Marshall is the reigning undisputed champ.
Before that fight, she fought legendary Claressa Shields for the title(s) but lost by unanimous decision. The loss to Shields remains the only defeat of her career.
Now, she’s ready to start a new chapter by fighting Mirela Vargas in the main event of PFL Europe 2. Obviously, Marshall’s strongest weapon is striking, but we just don’t know how good she is wrestling and grappling-wise.
Vargas will probably want to test her by taking the fight to the ground, but will she be able to pull it off?

In fact, she prefers striking duels, which is something she just cannot win against one of the best boxers in the world.
