One of the most intense international rivalries will be staged this week, as England travel to Scotland in an international friendly. Both nations are on course to secure their spot at Euro 2024, and it will be fascinating to see which of the sides will land victory this weekend.

Before Betting On Scotland vs England

It wasn’t exactly the return to international action that Gareth Southgate was looking for over the weekend, as England stuttered to a draw against Ukraine to take a step closer toward securing their spot at next summer’s EUROs. The Three Lions fell behind in the opening 45 minutes, but they quickly responded following Kyle Walker’s first international goal after a sublime pass from Harry Kane.

England certainly appear to be on the right track to make a big impression in Germany next summer, but Southgate still needs to fine tune his attacking options, as he still looks unsure as to who should be playing on the left-hand side of the attack. It’s likely that Marcus Rashford will be given his chance at Hampden Park this week.

This has been one of the most played international fixtures in history, with Scotland landing 41 wins compared to the 48 victories registered by England. The Scots are unbeaten in their last two, which includes a credible 0-0 draw at Wembley in the EUROs in 2021.

Scotland are certainly a nation on the rise in the international game, and they are on course to successfully qualify for a second straight edition of the EUROs. They were excellent in their most recent international fixture, as they recorded a commanding 3-0 win in Cyprus. Scott McTominay opened the scoring, before later goals were added by John McGinn and Ryan Porteous.

England are commanding favorites to win in Scotland this week, but there is something building within this Scottish team to suggest that a shock result could be on the cards. Therefore, a chance will be taken on the hosts to record a first win over the Three Lions since 1999.
