The Seattle Seahawks (4-5) play their NFC West rival the San Francisco 49ers (5-4) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Our Seahawks vs 49ers prediction is for favored San Francisco to cover the 6.5-point spread.

In Week 10, San Francisco celebrated the return of star running back Christian McCaffrey by squeaking past Tampa Bay 23-20. They are in second place, one-half game behind the surprising Arizona Cardinals.

Seattle had a much-needed bye in Week 10. They have lost five of six after a 3-0 start and are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for last place in the division. There is still a chance they will make the playoffs.

Head-to-head, Seattle has won 30 of the teams’ 53 meetings.

Seattle Desperately Needs a Win

Seattle’s 3-0 start seems like a long time ago.

Since then, they have lost five of six, including a Week 6, 36-24 loss to San Francisco. Quarterback Geno Smith, like his team, had a hot start. Now, he is leading the NFL in interceptions with 10.

Their rushing attack has been nearly non-existent. Defensively, they are in the bottom third in passing and rushing yards per game. They sit at 27th in turnover differential.

Seattle is leading the NFL in passing yards per game, but that too seems to be a byproduct of circumstances. For example, Smith accrued 395 yards through the air in a 42-29 loss to Detroit when the Seahawks mounted a furious comeback.

San Francisco Getting Healthy for the Second Half

San Francisco’s rushing attack is back in full force. A healthy McCaffrey joins Jordan Mason in their backfield. This will take the pressure off quarterback Brock Purdy and open the vertical game.

They get McCaffrey back just as the schedule grows difficult for the second half of the season. Without McCaffrey for the first eight games, Mason went above and beyond the call helping San Francisco maintain its rushing attack.

After Seattle, they head to Green Bay and Buffalo. As they sit behind surprising Arizona, they must rack up wins against beatable teams — starting with Seattle.

Seahawks vs 49ers Prediction: San Francisco Should Win Decisively

Under head coach Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers have historically been dominant after their bye with a 43-18 record. This season, their bye was before the Tampa Bay Game.

They are still not guaranteed a playoff berth, but they should handle Seattle and win by at least 6.5 points.
