The surprising Seattle Seahawks (6-5) travel to play the dysfunctional and spiraling New York Jets (3-8). Oddsmakers have the games as a “pick’em.” Our Seahawks vs Jets prediction is that Seattle will win the game and the teams will score less than 42 points.
With six weeks left in the regular season, Seattle has taken over first place in the NFC West. To maintain their lead, they must beat weaker teams like the Jets.
The Jets’ rampant disarray was briefly obscured by having their Week 12 bye and their stadium-mate Giants looking far more inept on and off the field. Their festivities will resume presently.
Offshore Odds: The Game is a Toss Up

Seattle’s Up and Down Season is in Its Up Phase
It was supposed to be a transition year for Seattle as it moved on from head coach Pete Carroll and started over with Mike Macdonald.
They broke from the gate hot winning three straight. Then they lost three straight including one to the woeful Giants. Next, they upset Atlanta, lost to Buffalo and the LA Rams, and beat division foes San Francisco and Arizona in consecutive weeks.
They’re in first place with as reasonable a chance as any divisional opponent to end up on top and make the playoffs.
Their final five games are tough. Three wins should be enough…if they get by the Jets.
To a degree, it’s understandable why the game would be pick’em. Seattle’s strength plays right into the Jets’ strength. The Seahawks and quarterback Geno Smith are second in the NFL in passing yards per game. New York’s pass defense is second in the league in fewest passing yards allowed per game.
Expect Seattle to try to get their run game going early with Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet, and Smith. Then they will push the ball downfield with D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Will the Jets Show Up?
After the Jets’ latest humiliation in Week 11’s home loss to Indianapolis, owner Woody Johnson fired general manager Joe Douglas. The inner workings of the Jets were brought to light — like being a captive audience for an autopsy — when it was revealed that Johnson wanted to bench quarterback Aaron Rodgers after their 10-9 loss to Denver in Week 4.
He was talked out of it.
With both Douglas and former head coach Robert Saleh gone, it’s anyone’s guess who’s in charge.
They have lost seven of eight. Rodgers looks like he’s checked out. Even if they put up a fight early against Seattle, there will forever be the “waiting for the bad stuff to happen” surrounding the Jets and, inevitably, they’ll be right.
Seahawks vs Jets Prediction: Seattle Won’t Let the Jets Stop Them
If Seattle doesn’t make the playoffs, it will not be because they lost to the Jets. The Seahawks will win and the combined point total will be lower than 42.
