Detroit Injuries Going to Doom Them?
Detroit will have to wipe away the taste of a bittersweet defeat last Sunday as they prepare for the Seahawks Lions week 4 matchup. The Lions had a 24-14 lead over division foe Minnesota with less than 8 minutes in the game before they gave up 14 unanswered in a 28-24 loss.
The Lions chances of getting to .500 this week against Seattle take a hit with both leading rusher D’Andre Swift (8.6 ypc) and top receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (253 yards, 3TDs) ruled out on Friday. Detroit should be alright in the running game with Jamaal Williams (4 TDs) picking up a heavier workload but St. Brown was turning into a budding superstar and his absence will be missed.
Seattle has to wonder what more they can do on offense to start generating some points? QB Geno Smith leads the NFL with a 77.5% completion rate but the Seahawks’ 15.7 ppg ranks 28th. One obvious improvement would be to get the running game going as Seattle’s 74.7 ypg on the ground is 4th fewest in the NFL.
If Seattle can’t get some points on the board here they are in trouble because the Lions’ 31.0 ppg allowed is the most in the NFL. The Seahawks have two huge weapons they haven’t really let loose yet this season as D.K. Metcalf just scored his first TD of the season last week while Tyler Lockett still hasn’t caught a TD and has a long reception of just 27 yards.

Seahawks Lions Week 4 Prediction
The injuries do hamper Detroit a bit but at the same time Seattle is making their first trip East of the Mississippi this season. The Seahawks have almost no running game of their own to go along with the second worst rush game in the NFL (157.0). That being said Smith is accurate and rarely makes mistakes, and we could see the breakout games from both Metcalf and Lockett against a struggling Lions defense. Seattle plus the points is the way to go.
