One thing is certain, Strickland won’t go easy on his opponent. Instead, he’ll probably throw everything he’s got at Du Plessis to hurt the guy. The bad news for Strickland is that this is a tactic that doesn’t work against Du Plessis.
The South African is famous for being a smart guy with a high fight IQ, who knows how to take advantage of his opponent’s mistakes, no matter how tiny they might be.

Strickland is a brawler who lands a lot of strikes and gets punched a lot. Du Plessis, on the other hand, is a much more well-rounded fighter who can finish literally any opponent. We think he’ll try to take the fight to the ground, where he’s superior to Strickland.
So, the question is can he land a takedown against fired-up “Tarzan”? It’s not going to be easy but we do feel as if backing Du Plessis would be the right move.
