Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk has just been announced as the new co-main event of UFC Abu Dhabi. The odds are heavily in favor of the undefeated Dagestani fighter whose most recent fight saw him win the Performance of the Night bonus. Can he do the same again?
Before Betting on Shara Magomedov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
Originally, the co-main event of UFC Abu Dhabi (a.k.a. UFC on ABC 7) was supposed to be the fight between two MMA veterans, Vicente Luque and Nick Diaz. After it became clear that the fight wouldn’t happen, the UFC booked Magomedov vs. Oleksiejczuk as its replacement.
Although neither fighter will have a full camp to prepare for the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event, both are probably in good shape. It’s because both of them fought in June.
“Shara Bullet” got his 13th career win on June 22 after beating Antonio Trocoli, for which he earned the Performance of the Night bonus. Three weeks earlier, Michal Oleksiejczuk fought Kevin Holland, but lost by technical submission. As a result, he’s now 19-8-1.
It was Oleksiejczuk’s 6th loss by submission, showing that he’s just a bad grappler. The good news for him is that the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event is almost certainly going to be a boxing duel.
Shara Magomedov is a fantastic striker with 11 of his 13 wins happening by KO/TKO, while Oleksiejczuk has 14 wins by this method.

Shara Magomedov’s odds suggest he’s going to have an easy job on August 3. Sure, his record is impressive, but he just hasn’t fought against such a great striker as “Hussar”. Actually, the most high-profile opponent Shara’s had is Bruno Silva (23-11) whom he defeated by decision.
That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Polish fighter managed to upset the odds at UFC 304.
