FA Cup fourth round replay action takes place this week, and one of the standout ties will see National League high-flyers, Wrexham, take on Premier League-bound Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. But, can the National League giants owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney write another Hollywood script?
Before Betting On Sheffield United vs Wrexham
The Wrexham story is one that have captured the imagination so far, given their links with illustrious Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. However, another script suitable for the big screen could be written on Tuesday, as the National League high-flyers look to knockout Premier League-bound Sheffield United away from home.
The first meeting between the sides a few weeks ago was a sensational game, with the two sides sharing six goals in a thriller at the Racecourse Ground. James Jones and Thomas O’Connor goals put Wrexham 2-1 ahead, before the Blades struck back with 25 minutes remaining. However, the Welsh club thought that they had sealed a dramatic win with just four minutes remaining. But, Sheffield United forced the replay with an equaliser in the 95th minute.
This will be the first time that the Blades have hosted Wrexham since August 1997, with United claiming a 3-1 win in the League Cup. Meanwhile, the Welsh side hasn’t beaten Sheffield United in three previous visits, losing twice in league meetings during that period.
The Blades also boast an excellent record in the FA Cup against non-league opposition, as they have progressed seven from their previous eight.
