The high-adrenaline action in France’s Ligue 1 continues across the coming weekend, with matches being staged across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can find our Ligue 1 soccer picks for matchday 13 here.
Ligue 1 Soccer Picks
Reims vs. Lens
Reims have been in excellent scoring form this season, reaching 20 goals at their earliest stage since 1976-77.
Lens have been weak defensively in recent outings, allowing eight in their last four. Goals should be assured, given that Reims are yet to keep a clean sheet at home this season.
But, their attacking threat could see them get over the line against a Lens side that has won just twice in 28 previous visits to Reims in Ligue 1.
Rennes vs. St. Etienne
Rennes have recorded five wins in their last six matches against St. Etienne in the league, with four victories over that period coming without conceding.
However, they come into this round having lost each of their last three without scoring. St. Etienne has the better recent form, winning two of their previous three. Therefore, the slight pick is for the visitors.
Brest vs. Strasbourg
Brest are winless in their last four home matches against Strasbourg, and they have only endured longer waits for home victories against PSG and Rennes.
However, Strasbourg have failed to score in two of their last three against Brest. The hosts are winless in their last three, and have suffered defeats in two of their last six at home.
But, this weekend could present the perfect opportunity to get back on track.
PSG vs. Nantes
PSG have once again been the dominant side in France this season, collecting 32 points from their opening 12 matches for the sixth time in their history. Nantes have suffered defeats in each of their last four.
PSG look good value to continue their dominant sequence after keeping clean sheets in three of their first six matches at the Parc des Princes this season.
Montpellier vs. Lille
Montpellier are winless in their last 12 matches against Lille in the league, losing on eight occasions over that period.
They have already conceded 32 goals in Ligue 1 this season, which is the most of any side across the top five divisions.
Lille have the most clean sheets in the league this term, and they look a solid chance to get another victory in France on Sunday.
Lyon vs. Nice
Lyon have a fine record against Nice, losing just once in the last five meetings between the sides. Meanwhile, Nice have failed to score in their last two against their opponents.
Despite off-field issues, the home team have gone seven without defeat in France. Home advantage has been key for Lyon this season, winning half of their six matches.
Le Havre vs. Angers
This weekend’s showdown between Le Havre and Angers is the first Ligue 1 meeting between the sides since 1994.
Le Havre haven’t scored in 63% of their matches against their opponents, but they come into this round in excellent form after winning two of their last three.
That could be the key form line against a rival that have lost each of their previous two.
Toulouse vs. Auxerre
Toulouse have avoided defeat in their last three against Auxerre, winning on two occasions over that period.
However, the visitors have won each of their last three, marking their longest winning sequence since March 2010. An away victory could be an interesting selection at the prices available this weekend.
Marseille vs. Monaco
Marseille have failed to win in their last three against Monaco, but two draws have been played out over that period. Monaco’s defensive record across their last four is eye-catching, allowing six goals after starting the season well.
Marseille have also conceded at least three goals in each of their last two home matches. But, a passionate Stade Velodrome could get the home side over the line in Sunday’s standout match.
