The soccer action in Europe continues on December 22, as the final rounds of matches before Christmas Day are staged. It is the final weekend of Bundesliga action before the winter break, while there are also interesting Serie A and La Liga encounters to assess.

Bundesliga Soccer Picks Today

Bochum vs. Heidenheim

Bochum have avoided defeat in their last seven competitive matches against Heidenheim since a 3-2 away loss in the second tier in September 2018. Over that period, they have recorded five wins.

However, both fixtures last season ended in draws. Bochum’s start to the season is hard to ignore, as they are on the longest ongoing winless run in the Bundesliga, and have suffered 20 defeats in the competition this calendar year.

Given their poor form this season, Heidenheim look to be the obvious play on the moneyline.

Serie A Soccer Picks

Roma vs. Parma

Roma have an impressive strike rate against Parma, winning 61% of the Serie A meetings between the sides. Meanwhile, they haven’t lost at home against their Italian opponent since April 1997.

However, Roma have lost seven of their last nine games in the league. Despite that, they could be the most logical winner on Sunday against a Parma side that have suffered defeats in four of their last six.

Venezia vs. Cagliari

Venezia have avoided defeat in their last seven league matches against Cagliari, but it could be worth noting that four previous encounters have ended in draws.

The hosts have played out ties in their last two, and have scored and conceded the same number of goals as they did at this exact stage last term. Cagliari have found wins in short supply this season, winning just once in their last eight. A home win looks to raise the festive cheer.

Atalanta vs. Empoli

It has been an excellent season to this point for Atalanta, and they look set to end a wonderful 2024 on a high point. The hosts have won 12 of their opening 16 matches this season, and they have recorded ten successive wins for the first time in club history.

Atalanta’s head-to-head advantage also furthers their claims this weekend, as they have avoided defeat in eleven of their last 12 home matches against Empoli.

La Liga Soccer Picks

The only match taking place in La Liga on Sunday comes from the Santiago Bernabeu, as Real Madrid host Sevilla.
