The 2024 edition of the Solheim Cup will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club across the weekend of September 13-15. The advantage coming into the event rests with Team Europe after successfully retaining the title last year following a draw in the USA. But, can the American team finally regain the cup this year?

The 19th edition of the Solheim Cup promises to be bigger than ever, as the tournament is staged for a second straight year as the calendar looks to reorganize itself following the COVID-19 pandemic. Europe has been the dominant team in the event across recent years, having won the competition in 2019, and retaining the honor in both the 2021 and 2023 editions.

The USA are without a win in the Solheim Cup since a demolition success by a 16.5-11.5 margin in Iowa in 2017. That was their second win in two editions of the events, but their victories in 2015 and 2017 are the only wins recorded by Team USA in the last seven renewals of the Solheim Cup.

Stacy Lewis once again captains the American team this year, while Suzann Pettersen keeps her role as European captain following the tie in Spain last year. The USA look to be a stacked team this year, with stars such as Nelly Korda and Lilia Vu both coming into the Solheim Cup in standout form. The former boasts the highest win rate at the event in the USA team after winning 62.50% of her matches.

Unsurprisingly, Team Europe have opted to keep faith with a number of the stars that have impressed across the previous two editions of the event. Georgia Hall, Anna Nordqvist, and Emily Kristine Pedersen are among the captain’s picks, with all boasting prior experience at the Solheim Cup. Meanwhile, Charley Hull, Leona Maguire, and Maja Stark all boast over 60% win rates at the event.
