Tottenham and Manchester United played 1-1 in Premiership’s match of the day, while across the sea, Sevilla managed to snatch one point from Barca and to complicate things in the La Liga.
Late Penalty Earns a Point for United
Ten minutes before the end of the regular time, Eric Dier had one clumsy reaction in the box, handing an ideal opportunity for the guests to level the score. The referee awarded a penalty to the Red Devils, with Bruno Fernandes easily executing the shot.
That penalty was the award for the pressure in the last half an hour, ever since Paul Pgba stepped on the pitch of an empty Tottenham Stadium. The French international brought in energy, and his teammate from the national team, Anthony Martial, had two chances but wasn’t able to score.

Until that moment, the Red Devils were better, but couldn’t score. Yet, after this goal, the Spurs turned up the tempo, and they had one superb chance to score, but De Gea stopped Son’s impressive header.
Right now, Manchester United sits fifth with 46 points, two more than Sheffield United, who has one game fewer. These two sides will meet in the next round, at the Old Trafford, and that could easily be the game that solves all the problems regarding the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Tottenham has 42 points and is behind Wolves with 43 and the above-mentioned Blades.
Barcelona Slips in Sevilla
Real Madrid fans are ecstatic tonight, because Los Blancos have a chance to Barcelona at the top of the standings. Blaugrana had two points more before this round, and they missed an opportunity to increase the distance between them and the biggest rivals.
After a goalless draw, the two biggest Spanish are withing one win, and Real has an excellent chance to jump back to the saddle.
The match in Sevilla was interesting but not because of the players and the game itself, but more because of incidents that took place at Ramon Sanches Pizjuan tonight.
In the third minute of the stoppage time of the first halftime, we saw an incident during which Messi pushed one of Sevilla’s players, but the referee didn’t react. The Argentinian didn’t receive a yellow card, which made the hosts’ players even more furious.

The home team improved following Ever Banega’s arrival to the pitch, and Rojoblancos performed better than Barca throughout the majority of the second half. Regulion even missed a chance to stun Barca in the last minute.
Sevilla is third in the standings with 52 points, three more than Atletico Madrid and five than Getafe, Real Sociedad, and Villarreal.
