St. Louis City and Portland Timbers are near one another in the standings and are direct rivals for the spot in the play-in, maybe even the playoffs. The Timbers are better placed, having three points more, but also played two games more.

Before Betting on St. Louis City vs. Portland Timbers

City has four games in a row without a victory, but at least the positive thing is that they snapped a three-game losing streak with a tie against Inter Miami on the road, 3-3.

Four of the previous five events they played all saw over 2.5 hits, and both teams netting, which wasn’t the case earlier this year. The trend of efficient matches began when their results worsened.

Opposite to St. Louis, Portland’s form has improved since mid-May. They’ve posted three victories with a loss and a tie in five previous MLS games, netting twice in each but the one where they lost.

Timbers’ results outside Portland are terrible, and until their win in Austin, which was in the most recent outing, they couldn’t triumph in seven consecutive meetings, having five defeats and two ties. We can say that the lack of decent results away from home are the main reason why Timbers sit this low.

These teams played twice last season, and both clubs recorded victories on the road, with the indentical result, 1-2.

This is the game in which we expect both teams to attack and, in the end, both of them to score. It is the most logical bet here, because we often see this in the results column when looking at the recent respective results.
