The Stanley Cup finals are heating up as we reach the fourth game of the series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Colorado Avalanche. The Lightning claimed a first win in the finals series on Monday evening, as they pulled back to within a game of the Avalanche. However, they will need to win once again in game four to put pressure on the Avalanche ahead of the series moving back to Ball Arena.

Before Betting On NHL Avalanche vs Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning would have been aware that game three was a must-win occasion. That pressure often brings the very best out of the two-time defending champions, and that was the case once again on Monday evening, as they finally arrived in the Stanley Cup finals this season with a 6-2 victory.

It was a fine response following their 7-0 defeat at Ball Arena in game three, as the Lightning scored twice in the opening period, before adding four more goals in the second. There were six different scorers for the Lightning on Monday, with Patrick Maroon, Ondrej Palat and Steven Stamkos among those. Further goals were added by Anthony Cirelli, Nick Paul and Corey Perry.

It was a much better night for goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy, as he ended with a save percentage of .949. The only goals that he allowed in the 6-2 defeat were scored by Gabriel Landeskog. However, Monday’s win means that the series is well and truly back on, as the Lightning search for a third straight success in the Stanley Cup.

Game four will be another huge game for the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena. We could see them tying the series this week, but aren’t convinced that they will cover the spread. Therefore, we like the chances of the Lightning on the money line at -107 with BetOnline and Sportsbetting.ag.
