The Chicago Bears will host the Los Angeles Rams in a highly anticipated game on Sunday night. Chicago features one of the best and most destructive defenses in the NFL this season, and they will try to shut down an explosive Rams offense. The Rams are the top team in the NFC at the moment, and the Bears are trying to reach the postseason.
Los Angeles comes into this game with an 11-1 record, and they have already clinched the NFC West division. The Rams lone loss this season came at the hands of the New Orleans Saints in an offensive shootout. Chicago saw their five game winning streak snapped last week at the hands of New York Giants. The Bears still lead the NFC North with an 8-4 record coming into this game. The Bears are a three-point underdog against the LA Rams.
Cohen Emerging As Star
Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen is quickly emerging as one of the top playmakers in the NFL. Cohen had a monster game in week 13, and nearly led the Bears to an improbable victory. For the season, Cohen has racked up close to 1,000 all-purpose yards and has scored 6 touchdowns. Chicago should be much better on offense in this game with Mitchell Trubisky back in at quarterback. Trubisky has completed over 65 percent of his passes this season, while throwing for close to 2,500 yards.
All eyes will be on the Bears defense in this game. Chicago has one of the top defensive units in football, and they force a ton of turnovers. The Bears have forced 30 turnovers already this season, and have scored a whopping six defensive touchdowns. Linebacker Khalil Mack gets all of the headlines, but the Bears have a ton of monsters on that side of the ball.
Donald Hoping To Carry Rams Defense
Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald might not only be the best defensive player in the NFL, he might be the best player. Donald has been a one-man wrecking crew for Los Angeles this season, and he could realistically win the MVP Award. Donald has recorded 16.5 sacks and four forced fumbles already this season. The Rams still have plenty of questions in the secondary, but they will get pressure on Trubisky.
The Rams are the third highest scoring team in the NFL this season, averaging 34.9 points per game this season. Quarterback Jared Goff has a ton of weapons to get the ball to, and he has thrown for 27 touchdowns this season. Running back Todd Gurley is probably the best in the league at that position, and he has reached the end zone 19 times this season. It will be interesting to see if the Rams can put up points on the Bears.
Bears Use Defense to Beat Rams
Weather could play a factor in this game, and the Bears are used to that kind of weather. This could turn into a defensive struggle, and the Bears are built for that kind of football. Los Angeles has a terrific offense, but taking on the Bears in Chicago will be too tall of a task. Look for Khalil Mack to be a monster in this game, and the Bears to find just enough scoring to win. Bet the Chicago Bears +3.0 over the Los Angeles Rams.
