The college basketball season is heating up as March quickly approaches! In our Tennessee vs Auburn pick, the top two SEC teams clash in an even matchup. The Tigers have a key advantage at home.

Tennessee Aims for Upset Win

Tennessee dropped out of the nation’s top-ranked spot following their 30 point loss to Florida earlier in the month. Since then, they’ve gone 3-1. They posted ranked wins over Georgia and Mississippi State, but also lost to unranked Vanderbilt. They need to improve on offense to have a shot against Auburn.

Leading scorer Chaz Lanier continues to lead the way for the Volunteers. While their defense is consistently excellent, the offense has struggled to support Lanier. They haven’t reached 80 points in a game since before Christmas. Tennessee’s’ offensive futility has cost them in recent NCAA Tournaments.

Auburn is Asserting Dominance

Auburn sits atop both the SEC standings and AP Top 25 as February nears. They earned six excellent ranked wins against a variety of quality opponents, establishing themselves as one of the best. Their only loss of the season came against #2 Duke on the road. They face another tough task with Tennessee.

5th-year Senior Johni Broome continues to lead the way for the Tigers. He is an excellent defender and is averaging a double-double on the season. Recently, Broome even posted a rare 20/20 game. He also averages nearly 3 blocks per game. Auburn is able to rely on Broome to lead their very talented roster.

Tennessee Volunteers vs Auburn Tigers Pick

Tennessee faces three straight top-10 teams and will be aiming to make a statement during that stretch. While the home games against #5 Florida and #9 Kentucky should be winnable, they face a brutal task in this game at #1 Auburn. The Tigers have shown little weakness, and are more consistent on both sides of the ball. We expect Auburn to win this one.
