The Washington Commanders (7-5) host the Tennessee Titans (3-8) needing a win to get their playoff hopes back on track after three straight losses. Our Titans vs Commanders prediction is for underdog Tennessee to keep the score within the 6-point spread.

Tennessee had its most impressive win of 2024 in Week 12 when it defeated AFC South rival, first-place Houston. It’s small consolation for a 3-8 team, but their offense clicked for the first time all season.

Washington was one of the NFL‘s best stories after their 7-2 start. However, a one-point loss to Pittsburgh followed by a “score looks closer than it was” loss to Philadelphia left them reeling. In Week 12, they were favored over the Cowboys but lost painfully after a missed extra point.

Head-to-head, Tennessee leads 8-6.

Tennessee Showed Fight Against Houston

In its win over the Texans, Tennessee scored more than 30 points for only the second time this season. They won the other game as well.

This is an evaluative time for the Titans as GM Ran Carthon and head coach Brian Callahan need to determine if quarterback Will Levis is their choice to lead the team or if they want to draft a replacement.

They will have a high pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Titans’ problem has been their offense and turnovers. Defensively, they are leading the league in fewest passing yards allowed per game and are eighth in rushing yards allowed. Washington is vulnerable to the run, so expect Tony Pollard to get a lot of work.

Washington Must Rebound After Loss to Cowboys

The Commanders were on the verge of their second so-called “miracle” win of 2024 in Week 12 at home against Dallas. Trailing by 10 with 1:40 remaining, Washington kicked a field goal. Then with 21 seconds left, quarterback Jayden Daniels hit Terry McLaurin for an 86-yard touchdown.

A bad snap on the extra point led to kicker Austin Seibert’s miss and a Washington loss.

The Commanders are holding onto their playoff position, but another loss will make that precarious.

They must regroup in every way, specifically special teams after surrendering two kickoff return touchdowns against the Cowboys and the missed extra point.

Austin Ekeler is out with a concussion.

Stopping the run is key. They should be able to contain Levis through the air. If Washington falls behind early, the pressure will mount and mistakes will ensue.

Titans vs Commanders Prediction: Tennessee Keeps it Close

If Washington plays as poorly as it did against Dallas, struggles against the pass, turns the ball over, and is inept on special teams, they’re going to lose. It’s unreasonable to expect that to happen again. Still, the game will be close and Tennessee will cover the 6-point spread.
