We’ve got an interesting Thursday night matchup with the 4-3 Ravens actually underdogs on the road at 3-4 Tampa Bay. When we last saw the Buccaneers they were getting upset 21-3 by the lowly Panthers as -13 point favorites. Before that Tampa Bay lost 20-18 to Pittsburgh as -10 point favorites so the Bucs have cost bettors some money lately.
Before Betting on Ravens vs Buccaneers
This game has all the makings of an oddsmakers trap. Who is going back on the Bucs when they’ve not only failed to cover double-digit point spreads the past two weeks, but actually lost those games outright? Tampa Bay has been held to 21 points or less in six of their seven games this season and Baltimore is the sixth highest scoring team in the NFL at 25.9 ppg.
Tom Brady is obviously going to take a lot of the blame for the Buccaneer’s skid. The 45-year-old looked his age going 32/49 for 290 yards against the Panthers with 0 TD, and Carolina is just 2-5 on the year. Baltimore’s defense has had their issues defending the pass (261.3 ypg) so Brady will likely put up some numbers – but will it be enough?
It’s not like Baltimore has done a ton to warrant being a road favorite in the Ravens vs Buccaneers matchup, barely getting past Cleveland 23-20 as a -6.5 favorite and losing 24-20 to the Giants the week prior at -5.5. The Ravens have also alternated wins and losses every game this season which leaves them due for a defeat after last week’s victory over the Browns.
It’s tough to figure out if this will be a high scoring game or be more of a defensive struggle. Baltimore has been held to 23 points or less their last four weeks and being on the short week probably won’t lead to a huge offensive outburst.

Aside from this line looking very off in the fact that Baltimore should be favored, it’s likely a trap and the Bucs pull this one out. In that case the best spot for a Tampa Bay bet is at Pinnacle where the point spread is down to -1 although the price is up a bit at -116. If this is a classic overthinking and the Ravens do get the win then Pinnacle is also the best spot to bet that way for a +112 ML play. Tampa Bay probably gets this one by 4-5+ based on the spread.
