Tony Ferguson went from hero to zero in no time, and his upcoming bout against Bobby Green at the UFC 291 will either put him in the second league of the UFC, or keep him relevant for a while.

Before Betting on Tony Ferguson vs. Bobby Green

El Cucuy lost his last five events. It all started against Justin Gaethje, then continued with Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, Michael Chandler, and at last, Nate Diaz. There hasn’t been such a rapid fall from the top like his in the previous few years in the UFC.

Ferguson was the lightweight interim champion, and he was supposed to fight Khabib for unification, but the Russian had to pull out, and Gaethje jumped in. The rest is history. Once the most feared lightweight, whose durability and stamina were the best in the organization, is now just a shadow of his previous might.

Bobby Green was never an elite UFC lightweight. He was always on the border, too good for the newcomers and others but too bad to make anything notable and break into the top 10. The American is an experienced fighter, with 45 bouts, of whom he won 29.

He doesn’t have a particular strength inside the octagon, but is simply average in all aspects of the battle and possesses decent stamina and body. His top two wins were against Al Iaquinta and Clay Guida, but in time when these two were way behind their glory days.

El Cucuy isn’t the fighter he used to be in the past. Simple as that. His body is weak, his reflexes much slower, and apparently, his chin is finally broken. We’ve seen that he can’t compete with the relevant guys in the division, and even though Green isn’t one of them, he is too good for Ferguson right now.
