Huge action in the FA Cup takes place on Friday, as the defending champions travel to London. Man City will be the favorites in the betting to reach the next round, but Tottenham boast an impressive recent record against the reigning English champions.

Before Betting On Tottenham vs Man City

Man City and Tottenham clash for the second time this season on Friday, with the sides playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first league meeting between the sides in 2023-24. This will be the 15th time that the teams have collided in the FA Cup, and it will be the first meeting since the 2003-04 season. On that occasion, City came back from 3-0 down to claim a dramatic 4-3 success.

However, City’s recent away record against Spurs could be a concern for many this weekend, as they have suffered five defeats on the bounce at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Over that period, City have failed to score a single goal, despite attempting 84 shots and registering 22 on target.

Tottenham’s overall recent record at home in the cup is solid, winning 12 of their last 13. Their only defeat over that sequence was a 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in 2016. But, this will be the first time that they have come up against the defending holders at home since February 1952, losing 3-0 against Newcastle on that occasion.

City’s stunning record in the FA Cup stretches back to January 2019, as they have won their last 21 matches in the competition that haven’t been played at Wembley. In fact, their only three defeats since 2019 have come at the national stadium. Their most recent exit before the semi-final stage came at the hands of Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium in February 2018.
