One of the final events on the PGA Tour schedule for this season takes place across the coming weekend, as the season-defining Tour Championship will be staged at East Lake Golf Club. You can find the latest odds and our pick here.

Before Betting On Tour Championship

The Tour Championship is one of the standout events on the PGA Tour calendar, as the FedEx Champion for the 2023 season will be crowned. It is a hugely lucrative event on the Tour, with the winning player picking up $18 million in prize money. The event has been staged at East Lake Golf Club since 2004, with the field competing across 7,346 yards in the stroke play event.

However, the format for the event is slightly different to most events on the PGA Tour. There is a staggered start, with the players starting with the advantage determined by the current FedEx standings. The advantage this weekend is firmly with Scottie Scheffler, as the American starts at ten-under, meaning that he begins the tournament with a two shot advantage over Viktor Hovland.

However, the latter will come into this weekend in excellent recent form after shooting a course record total on his way to success at the BMW Championship. Rory McIlroy is also within three shots of the clear favorite, and the Northern Irishman could be excellent value to repeat what he managed 12 months ago.

McIlroy is one of just two players to have won this event on multiple occasions, with his third success coming 12 months ago. Jon Rahm has also excelled at the Tour Championship in recent history, but he will need to start the round with a couple of bogies, as he starts four shots behind Scheffler.

Scheffler holds a firm advantage this weekend, but it could be worth taking on the American. We will be taking a chance on Rahm, who looks more than capable of making the fast start required to make in-roads into the American’s advantage.
