The Twins and Angels put on quite a show in Friday’s series opener. LAA took a 3-0 lead before Minnesota tied things up in the 6th and going up 4-3 in the 7th before the Angels took the lead for good in the bottom of the frame for a 5-4 victory. Offshore books are calling for another close game on Saturday night with Los Angeles a slight favorite.
Before Betting on Twins vs Angels
Minnesota didn’t get their first hit of the night until two outs in the 5th as Angels starter Reid Detmers was spinning a gem. The Twins added three runs with two outs in the 6th, but their bullpen could not hold on as Mickey Moniak and Hunter Renfroe both had 3 hit nights. Moniak also robbed a HR to keep it a 1-run game in the 7th.
Detmers and Minnesota starter Joe Ryan had a decent duel on Friday, and Saturday’s matchup will see the Twins’ Louie Varland (1-0, 4.30 ERA)squaring off against Patrick Sandoval (3-2, 3.22 ERA). Varland has allowed at least 3 ER in three of his four starts while Sandoval has held opponents to 2 ER or less in three of his last four.
The Twins are holding on to a 2.5 game lead in the AL Central, even though Minnesota has gone 1-3 so far on their trip to Los Angeles (losing two of three to the Dodgers as well). The Angels do have some value here going 13-4 in their last 17 home games against a RH starter including Friday night’s victory.

Twins vs Angels Prediction & Pick
Friday night’s game was a solid back-and-forth battle that went ‘over’ the total even with two quality starters on the bump. Saturday’s meeting should favor the offenses yet again which makes the best play on another high scoring night.
