The AL Central looks like it’s going to be a dogfight for the rest of the Summer, so the Minnesota Twins shouldn’t worry too much about what has been a rough start to their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even so, the Twins playing sub .500 ball in June and July has finally knocked them out of sole position of the division lead which they’ve had for the previous 91 days.
The Dodgers were a huge -248 favorite on the offshore odds for the series opener in a Julio Urias vs. Joe Ryan pitching matchup. The number has dropped a bit for game two, suggesting the Twins may put up more of a fight on Wednesday night.
Sonny Gray (6-3, 3.19 ERA) pitches for Minnesota in the Twins vs Dodgers matchup up against Ryan Pepiot (1-0, 2.76 ERA). Gray has allowed just 2ER total over his last three starts, while Pepiot his making just his fifth start in the majors.
