After Sean Payton, two more big names from the NFL were infected with the COVID-19 virus – Broncos’ linebacker Von Miller and Rams’ center Brian Allen.
Miller Announces the News This Thursday
The Broncos OLB revealed yesterday that he has the COVID-19 virus. Miller and Denver released a statement which said that the player is under the care of the team doctors and that he feels good now.
The 31-year old has asthma problems, and he recently noticed slight coughing but didn’t believe that it might be harmful. However, once his girlfriend told him that he coughs pretty badly during sleep, the player had to visit the doctors.
The results came back positive, but Miller didn’t panic or anything, but quite the opposite.
“I’m in good spirits. I’m still Von,” he said.
Miller also added that right now, he is in quarantine at his home, feeling ok and ready to fight the invisible enemy. He doesn’t know too much about the whole thing, but his doctor Steve Geraghty is there to help and provide guidelines.
At the moment, the Super Bowl L champion can’t tell where he caught the virus. He was in San Francisco previously, until coming back to Colorado on March 16. The player would also add that nobody from his close environment had any symptoms at all, including the elderly population.
The veteran is one of the best linebackers in history, and is a member of the NFL 2010s Decade All-Team. Denver picked him as the second overall choice at the 2011 NFL Draft, and he became one of the biggest names in the franchise history. Miller is the Super Bowl L MVP. Back then, his Broncos defeated Carolina Panthers 24-10. Besides that, he had 7 All-Pro choices and 8 Pro Bowl invitations.
Rams’ Allen Infected for a Long Time, Reveals Only This Wednesday
Brian Allen, the center of the LA Rams, was the first case of the COVID-19 in the NFL. He spoke about his condition on Wednesday, but apparently, both he and the Rams kept that as a secret.
The 24-year old felt the first symptoms three weeks ago. At the time, he was recovering from a knee injury, picked up in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Allen was spending his rehabilitation process in Rams’ training facilities, where he also prepared for the next season, training individually.
After finding out that he has Coronavirus, the team closed all its buildings and proceeded with disinfection, keeping the training center shut down for two weeks. According to the latest intel, everything will be open pretty soon, and it is expected for Allen to be cleared off the virus this or at the latest the next week.
Allen came to the league in 2018, when Rams drafted him as the 111th overall pick in the fourth round. During his rookie season, he played as a backup, appearing in 13 games. At the start of the previous campaign, Sean McVay promoted him to a starting center, and Allen appeared in nine matches before suffering a season-ending injury against the Steelers.
