Bayern Hoping To Build On Impressive Start

Atletico are currently sitting in eighth place in the league standings in La Liga, but they ended a run of two consecutive 0-0 draws in their last league game. It was a long 180 minutes without a goal for Atletico going into this recent fixture against Celta Vigo, but they quickly amended that in the opening ten minutes away from home.
Atletico took the lead after just six minutes in that recent game on the road, as Luis Suarez scored his third goal for the club in just four appearances. Atletico were able to hang on to that lead for much of the game, and finally doubled their advantage in the final seconds when Yannick Carrasco scored the second. It was far from a vintage performance by Atletico, and there is a sense that there is still a long way to go. However, Diego Simeone’s side have made a name for themselves at the expense of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and Bayern will be wary of that.
