Denmark and Switzerland will play one of the most interesting matchups of this week’s UEFA Nations League round. These two units have had mixed success at the previous EURO, but since it’s over, they are ready for more challenges coming their way.

Before Betting on Denmark vs. Switzerland

The Danes lost against Germany in the Round of 16 at the previous EURO, 2-0, ending the competition without a win, posting all three ties in the group stage against Serbia, England, and Slovenia. It was tough to watch their games due to a lack of creativity and a very boring style of play.

Lars Knudsen didn’t change anything on the roster, which has remained mostly the same over the last several years. That’s maybe the team’s biggest problem, with some players losing their motive to play or simply getting older. Denmark needs fresh blood.

Switzerland didn’t deserve to lose against England in the EURO quarterfinals. They really didn’t. After two ties against Scotland and Germany and a win over Hungary in the group stage, Switzerland eliminated Italy in the Round of 16.

Their performances have drawn plenty of attention because this unit played fast, modern football with just enough tactical features to maintain their identity instead of being a defensive-minded bunch.

Denmark vs. Switzerland Head to Head

In March this year, Denmark hosted Switzerland in a friendly international, which saw no goals. Previously, the two played in the EURO qualifiers in 2019, where Denmark won 1-0 at home, while the game in Switzerland ended 3-3.

The Danes are a rough team that has slightly lost its edge over the years but is still a very cohesive unit. Switzerland knows how to play on result and is very gifted tactically, so moderate efficiency here, meaning 2 or 3 goals, is the safest choice.
