Before Betting on UFC Fight Night Dariush vs. Tsarukyan
Dariush’s eight-fight winning streak came to an end against Charles Oliveira back in June this year, when he suffered a nasty knockout in the opening round of their bout. It was a unique chance for Dariush to find his name in the title mix, but he missed it and, furthermore, shook his reputation because of the way he lost.
The American of Iranian origins had 28 battles so far, with 22 wins, four losses one draw, and one no-contest. Even though he is a very powerful wrestler, the method of his victories is more or less evenly distributed: nine via decision, eight by submission, and five after a KO.
Tsarukyan is a young guy, just 27 years old, but with solid experience, having 23 fights already. His record is 20 victories and three defeats, the latest in June 2022 against Mateusz Gamrot, against whom he lost after a unanimous decision. Tsarukyan is an enormous talent, and the organization didn’t want to burn him fast, throwing big-time names on him early on.
The Georgian is one of few guys in the division with a powerful wrestling style and very good cardio. However, that was primarily against guys who aren’t ranked among the division’s top 15 places. Eight of his victories were via KO, five by submission, and seven after a decision.

Dariush has had more experience up to this point, and even though he suffered a nasty KO vs. Oliveira, there isn’t a threat that he might endure the same here. Simply put, Tsarukyan isn’t some top-notch puncher. Our pick would be Dariush because of his background and experience against the fighters who are dominant wrestlers.
