The big match in North American soccer will take place in Texas on Sunday, as the USA and Mexico collide in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League. Both nations picked up vital wins to secure their spot at this stage in the midweek semi-finals.

Before Betting On USA vs Mexico

The USA and Mexico will compete in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League for the second time in three editions. It will be advantage to the Americans following the first meeting between the sides in 2020, which was won by a 3-2 scoreline following extra time. However, Mexico have been consistent in the competition after reaching the semi-finals in both previous editions.

But, the USA will be looking to continue their dominant record in the tournament after winning each of the last two editions. They continued their excellent record in the competition after recording a 2-0 win against Canada in Las Vegas last summer. However, questions could be asked of the USA form coming into this final after they edged through their semi-final against Jamaica on Thursday.

Jamaica opened the scoring after a minute, before the USA kept their dreams alive after netting a dramatic equalizer in the final minute of second half injury time. Haji Wright was the standout player in the additional period, netting twice to ensure that America reached a third straight final with a 3-1 success.

It was a far smoother progression through to the final for Mexico, as they avoided an upset against the in-form Panama. Mexico effectively took the game away from their rivals before the half time break following efforts from Edson Alvarez and Julian Quinones. The scoring was completed in the second period by Orberlin Pineda with just over 20 minutes remaining of the 90.

The USA have a strong hold on the Nations League, and they have enjoyed huge success in the competition since its inception. However, Mexico come into the final in better form, meaning the preference is for USA’s stranglehold on the Nations League to come to an end.
