  • Arsenal could be without three key players.
  • Liverpool surprisingly remain betting underdogs.
  • Head-to-head record a concern.

The biggest matchup in this weekend’s Premier League will see Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium.

The two giants of English football, currently sitting third and top, respectively, are set for a blockbuster clash, and one that will undoubtedly have major implications in this season’s title race.

Arsenal Injury News: Bukayo Saka One of Three Unlikely to Feature Against Liverpool

After losing 2-0 to Bournemouth last time out, the Gunners will be desperate to get back to winning ways, but Mikel Arteta faces a huge challenge after three of his best players are big injury doubts.

Picking up an injury while on international duty with England earlier in the month, Bukayo Saka remains a doubt for this weekend’s clash.

The same can now be said for defensive duo Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, who missed Arsenal’s most recent training session.

Speaking about the possibility of being without the trio, Arteta, who spoke to reporters on Friday, said: “We are going to do our very best to somehow have them available. But it’s very, very uncertain.”

Consequently, with the three important players likely to be sidelined for Sunday’s mammoth clash, fans may understandably be backing Arne Slot’s Liverpool, who are on an eight-game unbeaten run.

Potential Value in Backing Liverpool Against Arsenal

At plus money, Liverpool are an attractive option but caution is still needed, regardless of how many injuries Arsenal are forced to contend with.

Playing away at the Emirates is not a good omen for Liverpool. The Reds have not beaten Arsenal away in the Premier League for over two years with their last win being a 2-0 victory all the way back in March 2022.

Slot will certainly be hoping he can end this poor head-to-head record by taking all three points later this weekend.

Victory over Arsenal will see Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 25 points, and depending on what second-placed Manchester City do against Southampton on Saturday, could be five points clear after nine games.
