Minnesota keeps rattling off wins as they’ve gone to 6-1 with a commanding lead in a weak NFC North that sees Green Bay as the nearest threat at 3-5. The Vikings added to their explosive offense this week as well acquiring TE T.J. Hockenson from Detroit. Many people still have Minnesota on upset alert in the Vikings vs Commanders matchup though as Washington (4-4) has put together three straight wins.

Before Betting on Vikings vs Commanders

Hockenson just joined Minnesota this week so it’s hard to tell what kind of role he’ll play on Sunday, but that gives the Vikings a lot of weapons. The Vikings have Justin Jefferson who is 3rd in the NFL with 752 receiving yards, RB Dalvin Cook who had 111 yards last week against Arizona, and reliable role players in WR Adam Thielen and RB Alexander Mattison among others.

While Minnesota has the big names, Washington is getting by on grit and nobody personifies that better than QB Taylor Heinicke. They haven’t been pretty, but Heinicke has led Washington to two straight wins since taking over for the injured Carson Wentz, beating Green Bay 23-21 and Indianapolis 17-16.

Minnesota vs Washington Prediction & Pick

This game has trap vibes with the Vikings being just a field goal favorite on the road at FedEx Field. Sure Washington has some distractions with ownership reportedly looking to sell the team and they’ve really been walking on a tight rope with their three straight wins that easily could have been losses. All that does is ask the question why this spread isn’t -5 or higher in favor of the Vikings? The books want us to take Minnesota.
Pick: Washington +3
